What is the maximum water level from the Pool deck?
Share
A common question I am asked about is "What is the lowest water level the Top-up turtle will shut off at below the pool deck"?
This is a good question and one that is important because we need to be keeping the water level within the middle to upper level of the pool skimmers opening depth which is typically 150mm (6 ")
As depicted in the image below we can see that the distance from where the shell is sitting on the pool deck that when the fish float is set to the end position you would expect to get a distance of around 140mm (5 3/4") to the water level.
While many pools will be ok with setting the float at the bottom 1/4 of the adjustable arm some pool decks may require more length in the arm to get the desired level for the skimmer opening.
The first option to get a lower level immediately is to tilt the fish float downwards to approximately 45 degrees and tighten the wing nut so the serations bite in and hold the float in place. This will give up to another 30mm (1 1/8") up to a total of 170mm (7") of depth as shown in the diagram below.

As a final option for consideration there is now a longer arm available that is 50mm (2") longer than the one that is supplied with the Top-Up Turtle. The total length of the original arm is 200mm (8") the longer arm length is 250mm (10") as shown below.
